Summary

Danger and betrayal, love and loss, secrets and enchantment are woven together in the breathtaking finale to the #1 New York Times bestselling Infernal Devices Trilogy, prequel to the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series。

THE INFERNAL DEVICES WILL NEVER STOP COMING

A net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute。 Mortmain plans to use his Infernal Devices, an army of pitiless automatons, to destroy the Shadowhunters。 He needs only one last item to complete his plan: he needs Tessa Gray。

Charlotte Branwell, head of the London Institute, is desperate to find Mortmain before he strikes。 But when Mortmain abducts Tessa, the boys who lay equal claim to her heart, Jem and Will, will do anything to save her。 For though Tessa and Jem are now engaged, Will is as much in love with her as ever。

As those who love Tessa rally to rescue her from Mortmain’s clutches, Tessa realizes that the only person who can save her is herself。 But can a single girl, even one who can command the power of angels, face down an entire army?

Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment, and the tangled threads of love and loss intertwine as the Shadowhunters are pushed to the very brink of destruction in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy。

The freaking epilogue had me in tears。 I did not see that coming。 So glad I read every page of a book。 That would be some serious lost information。 All the feels ending this one。 Life is bittersweet af。

I think this book was a great ending to the Infernal Devices series。 It put me on the edge of my seat and I just could not get enough of it。 It was not only heart-wrenching and emotional, but adventurous and exciting。 I recommend this series to anyone interested in the Fantasy genre。

This book was entertaining: I loved to be back in this world & with these characters。 There was also so much action & several chapters ended with cliffhanger so you had to read forward。 I loved it :DI was a bit disappointed that the last 100 pages were one big epilogue。 And there was still also epilogue-chapter xD For me the last part was a bit too long, but it still had some fun & sweet moments。 Characters were okay but I wouldn't mind if they would have been a bit less perfect。 That way they w This book was entertaining: I loved to be back in this world & with these characters。 There was also so much action & several chapters ended with cliffhanger so you had to read forward。 I loved it :DI was a bit disappointed that the last 100 pages were one big epilogue。 And there was still also epilogue-chapter xD For me the last part was a bit too long, but it still had some fun & sweet moments。 Characters were okay but I wouldn't mind if they would have been a bit less perfect。 That way they would have been more interesting。 This was really really entertaining, and I'll read more books setting in this world。 。。。more

I loved the ending to this series。 It was heartbreaking and agonizing but at the same time sweet and heartwarming (if such a combination is even possible)。 The ending made me cry even though I thought I was tough, I wasn't。。。 I have been thinking about how will Cassandra Clare end the love triangle and it exceeded all my expectations。 5 stars“Life is a book, and there are a thousand pages I have not read。 I would read them together with you, as many as I can, before I die -"“You endure what is u I loved the ending to this series。 It was heartbreaking and agonizing but at the same time sweet and heartwarming (if such a combination is even possible)。 The ending made me cry even though I thought I was tough, I wasn't。。。 I have been thinking about how will Cassandra Clare end the love triangle and it exceeded all my expectations。 5 stars“Life is a book, and there are a thousand pages I have not read。 I would read them together with you, as many as I can, before I die -"“You endure what is unbearable, and you bear it。 That is all。”“I am catastrophically in love with you。”“It has been the privilege and the honor of my life to know you。”“There is more to living than not dying。” 。。。more

I hate this stupid book for making my cry in that Epilogue。 It’s not that I even liked how the Epilogue went… they were bitter bitter tears that forced their way out of me and I didn’t realize I was crying until it happened and I was like… wow。 well then。 This stupid book that I was gonna give a generous 2。5 stars just made me cry like a baby。 And so here we are, bumping up a half star because while there were so many things that I didn’t like in this book, there were like 5 total redeeming nugg I hate this stupid book for making my cry in that Epilogue。 It’s not that I even liked how the Epilogue went… they were bitter bitter tears that forced their way out of me and I didn’t realize I was crying until it happened and I was like… wow。 well then。 This stupid book that I was gonna give a generous 2。5 stars just made me cry like a baby。 And so here we are, bumping up a half star because while there were so many things that I didn’t like in this book, there were like 5 total redeeming nuggets。 In no particular order, they include:1。 WILL AND JEM (their relationship and their personal characters)。 2。 the fact that that epilogue made me cry (this is a tricky one because i also hated it)。 3。 the Brotherhood。 I wish we got more in depth on all that (I’m guessing the Mortal Instruments books probably do but there’s no way in hell im opening that can of worms any time soon)。 4。 That Gideon and Gabriel’s dad turned into a LITERAL worm😂😂😂 (how is that not comedy gold!? i was dyin, im tellin you)。 5。 The quotes at the beginnings of chapters were actually a nice way to find some famous authors and poems。 Now those were all great and all, but there are 3 VERY prevalent parts of this book that just made it the hugest pain to get through。 Reading this book very much felt like walking through sludge at times。 Here’s the worst of it in a nutshell:1。 TESSA。 I HATE HER GUTS!!! SELFISH, SELFISH GIRL WHO DOESN’T DESERVE EITHER BOY, NOR HER FANCY COOL POWERS。 UGH。 perhaps my least favorite lead girl that I have EVER read before。 2。 The writing was often repetitive and laughable at times…and people say that these books were a LOT better than the Mortal Instruments。 I just don’t think I could take much worse as a first time reader in my 20s。 3。 To this moment I don’t understand what the whole “clockwork” thing signifies。 I did not care about about the plot the whole time and I still don’t。 It was very low stakes, and even when a character we knew DID die, I kinda just thought, “YES they totally deserved that。” In the end, I laughed and cried for all the wrong reasons throughout this whole trilogy。 On the one hand, my crying makes me feel like this book should at least be a 4, but on the other hand, it probably really deserves a low 2。 I’m caught in the middle with the fact that this trilogy definitely DID elicit emotions out of me, but I kind of hated it。 I don’t really know what else to say to this trippy, yet boring experience。 Will I be reading City of Bones you ask? I certainly hope not, but you know what they always say… curiosity killed the cat。 I’m unfortunately a well known, masochistic cat killer :/ 。。。more

I don’t know how I managed to miss this series when it first came out。 I was engrossed from start to finish。 Beyond that, I was relieved to find there are still YA fantasy novels out there that I may enjoy。 I had almost lost hope after reading the totally vapid Sarah J。 Maas novel A Court of Thorns and Roses and the Leigh Bardugo novel Shadow and Bone (a rare example of the Netflix adaptation surpassing the original)。
